The IT Crowd

By in Uncategorized

The IT Crowd is a new situation comedy in Britain about three people who work in the IT department for a large company, and the hilarity that ensues.
The first episode is available to stream from www.channel4.com.
I found it to be fairly amusing, although the laugh track was kind of annoying.

My theory is that this show, and most other shows, would be better without a laugh track. Some of the smartest, funniest sitcoms today have done well without one — see Arrested Development, Scrubs, My Name is Earl, The Office (both US and British), and Corner Gas. It’s all right to let the audience decide for themselves which jokes are funny and which jokes aren’t.

Also, this video will only work if you use Internet Explorer. Sorry about that.
