Should be interesting. I hope they can stay faithful to the story of the Doom games, rich and full as it is. There must be books upon books of text in those games. Really, this should have been a seven movie epic in order to encapsulate all of the plot of the game.
Seriously, given that the whole plot of the movie is going to be “see monster and shoot it”, it shouldn’t be easy to screw up but I know Hollywood probably can.
What I would like to see adapted to film is the story of Doom’s creation. If you get a chance, you should read Masters of Doom. It is very insightful into the PC video game industry of the early 90′s. I’m a sucker for video game history. I give this book the Kentcer Seal of Approval:
