I’ll try to keep this as spoiler free as you can. If you’ve watched the previous Star Wars movies then you probably already have a good idea about what happens. Anakin turns to the dark side and bad things happen. Oh, and there’s Wookies, but blink and you’ll probably miss them.
I’m not quite sure how I feel about the movie yet. I’m sure I’ll require another viewing or two of it to know where it ranks right now compared to the other movies. I know that this movie is definitely better that Episodes I and II. The special effects were incredible as expected. Plenty of lightsaber fights and things blowing up. The dialogue was as stilted as ever too. I don’t know whether it’s the acting or the script
Things I liked
- Yoda and Darth Sidious. The light and dark side at their best.
- R2D2 is the man (or bot).
- The actor who played Anakin did a far better job in this movie than he did in the last Episode
- Barely any Jar Jar.
- Revelations about the Darth Sidious’s former master and Anakin’s fall
Things I didn’t like
- The romance (and lack of chemistry) between Anakin and Padme.
- The droid voices. Why do all robots (except C3PO and R2D2) have to have high sqeaky voices. Rodger Rodger Why?
- Nooooo!!!! (Watch the movie and you’ll know what I mean)
Final Score – 3 out of 4 X-Wings.
Was it a good Star Wars movie? Definitely. Was it a good movie? Kinda. Lets face it. If you’re a Star Wars fan, you’ll see this movie no matter what I say.
